1. Eligibility

1.1. Participants must be at least 18 years of age to register for the MHFA course.
1.2. Participants must have reliable access to a computer and internet connection for online courses, if applicable.

2. Registration and Payment

2.1. To confirm your place in the course, full payment must be made upon registration unless other arrangements are made in writing.
2.2. All payments are non-refundable unless otherwise specified under the cancellation policy (Section 5).

3. Course Content and Certification

3.1. The MHFA course covers foundational knowledge and skills to support individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge or crisis.
3.2. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive MHFA certification, valid for 3 years and is subject to change according to guidelines established by MHFA.
3.3. Certification is contingent upon completion of all course modules and participation in required activities. No partial certificates will be issued.

4. Attendance and Participation

4.1. Full attendance is required to receive MHFA certification. Failure to attend all course sessions may result in forfeiture of certification.
4.2. Participants are expected to engage in course discussions, activities, and exercises respectfully and professionally.
4.3. For online courses, participants must have a working camera and microphone and are required to participate fully via video and audio.

5. Cancellation and Refund Policy

5.1. Participant Cancellation: Cancellations must be made in writing to [Insert Contact Information] at least 7 days before the course start date for a full refund.
Cancellations made less than 7 days before the start date may be subject to a partial refund, less any administrative fees. No refunds will be provided for cancellations made on or after the course start date.
5.2. Course Provider Cancellation: If the course is canceled by the provider due to unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer to a future course date.

6. Code of Conduct

6.1. Participants are expected to behave professionally and respectfully toward instructors and fellow participants throughout the course.
6.2. Any form of disruptive behavior, harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the course without refund.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

7.1. Your personal data, including name, contact details, and other information provided during registration, will be collected and used only for the purposes of course administration and certification.
7.2. We are committed to protecting your privacy and will not share your information with third parties, except as required by law or for the issuance of MHFA certification.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1. All course materials, including but not limited to presentations, handouts, and digital content, are the intellectual property of the course provider or licensed from MHFA.
8.2. Course materials are provided for your personal use during and after the course. You are not permitted to reproduce, distribute, or share the materials without explicit permission.

9. Health Disclaimer

9.1. The MHFA course provides basic first aid knowledge for mental health and substance use challenges. It does not replace professional mental health care or treatment.
9.2. Participants are advised to seek professional medical advice if they or others are experiencing a mental health crisis.
9.3. The course provider is not liable for any actions or outcomes resulting from the application of MHFA skills in real-life situations.

10. Liability

10.1. The course provider is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage to personal property arising from participation in the course.
10.2. Participants agree to release and hold harmless the course provider, instructors, and affiliates from any claims related to their participation in the MHFA course.

11. Changes to Terms

11.1. These terms and conditions may be updated from time to time. The latest version will always be made available prior to the start of the course.
11.2. Continued participation in the course following any changes to the terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.
